Watch the Hawaiian sun set into the blue Pacific with an unobstructed
view from this truly ocean-front balcony. Cheer on the outrigger
canoes as they race only yards from the lanai railing. They're so close
you can hear the chanting of the paddlers. Thrill to the frolics of the
spinner dolphins and hump-backed whales while enjoying your fresh-picked
papaya, juicy-sweet pineapple and Kona-coffee breakfast. Start the day
snorkeling with the gentle-giant green sea turtles, one of only three
places in Hawaii where they can be found. Peer into the smoking caldera
from the rim of an active volcano. Walk through a tropical jungle to a
spectacular waterfall. Inhale nature's sweet perfume from Hawaiian plumeria
and cattleya orchids. This is truly a tropical paradise in a safe, private surrounding,
as close to the Pacific as it's safe to be. The 18-acre Kanaloa complex
is in a quiet residential district, a fifteen-minute drive from
the main town of Kailua-Kona along the coastline and a two-minute drive
(1/2 mile) from Keauhou Shopping Center which offers a full-service grocery,
large Longs Drugs, restaurants, post office, six-screen movie theater,
and more. Famous Kahalu'u beach, one of the safest best snorkeling
beaches in the islands, is only a three minute drive away. Kanaloa features 24-hour gated security, a restaurant on the property, three pools (one for adults only) each with Jacuzzi spas, lighted tennis courts, all in a manicured setting planted with plumeria and gardenias, scarlet poincianas, multi-colored bougainvillea, graceful ti leaves and swaying coconut palms. This is our second home, our Hawaiian getaway which we offer as a vacation rental to discriminating non-smoking adults and well-behaved children when we're tied to Mainland chores. Since we both love to cook, we keep the Koa-wood kitchen equipped with
new pots and pans, sharp knives, quality glassware and utensils,
china and silverware service for ten, all the usual small appliances plus
nice amenities such as a coffee grinder, food processor, electric thermos,
toaster-oven and rice cooker. In the cupboard you'll find spices, cooking
and salad oils, tea, coffee, sugar, etc. This is definitely not a kitchen
where you'll find the usual condo-rental four spoons and forks, one dull
knife and one badly-scratched cheap teflon pan. |
